Indian Railways started the first commercial run of the second Vande Bharat Express from 05 October. The train operates between New Delhi and Katra will be flagged off by Home Minister Amit Shah on 03 October on its inaugural run. En route in both directions, the new Vande Bharat train halts for two minutes each at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi railway stations

Ticket prices The fare for travelling between New Delhi to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will be the following:
• Minimum: Rs 1,630
• Maximum: Rs 3,015

Train Number and days of run

• The train will operate six days from New Delhi except on Tuesday and is numbered 22439.

• The train will also operate six days from Katra except on Tuesday and is numbered 22440.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express train is the fastest train to operate on New Delhi-Katra route as the new Vande Bharat Express train will bring down the travel time to just 8 hours from the present travel time of about 11 hours and 30 minutes. Before the introduction of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express train on the Delhi-Katra route, Shri Shakti Express was the fastest train.

The distance between New Delhi and Katra is 655 kilometres which the train will cover in eight hours. The Vande Bharat Express will run at 130 kmph between New Delhi and Katra.
